Cedarville gets back to No. 1 in NAIA

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Cedarville (Ohio) collected all 21 first place votes and 591 total points to move back to No. 1 in the NAIA women’s cross country coaches’ Top 25 poll. The Lady Jackets had dipped to No. 2 for the previous two weeks.

Cedarville got back to the top spot thanks to a 25-point victory over then No. 1 Azusa Pacific (Calif.) last Saturday at the Aquinas (Mich.) Invitational.

Malone is tied for No. 4 with 518 points and Shawnee State moved up two positions to No. 15 with 320 points. Houghton and Roberts Wesleyan each received a vote.

Azusa Pacific (Calif.), who held the top spot for two weeks, dropped to No. 2 with 572 total points. California State-San Marcos remained at No. 3 for the third consecutive week with 545 points. Concordia (Calif.) moved up a spot and tied Malone with 518 points.

Wayland Baptist (Texas), 502 points, climbed four spots to No. 6 while No. 7 Biola (Calif.) dropped a spot with 462 points. Indiana Tech also moved up a spot this week to No. 8 with 460 points while Black Hills State (S.D.) and Simon Fraser (B.C.) each received 439 points at No. 9.
