Houghton's Topping voted AMC Player of the Year

Houghton's Keeler Topping
CEDARVILLE, Ohio - Houghton defender Keeler Topping has been selected the American Mideast Conference Player of the Year in women’s soccer for the 2009 season. She earned the honor in a vote of the league’s coaches.
Topping, a sophomore from Pittsford, N.Y., helped the Highlanders claim the conference regular season title. Houghton, 14-1-3 overall and 9-1-1 AMC, will host the AMC Final Four on Nov. 13-14.
The Highlanders placed four players total on the 14-member All-AMC First Team. Houghton head coach David Lewis was tabbed AMC Coach of the Year and his team earned the Fair Play Team Award which recognizes fair play and sportsmanship on the field of competition.
Shawnee State’s Brittney Brooks was named AMC Freshman of the Year. Three teams of 14 players apiece comprise the All-AMC Team with 26 additional players as honorable mention.
