CEDARVILLE, Ohio - Notre Dame forward Eric Dummermuth has been chosen the AMC Men’s Basketball Player of the Week for the third time this season for his effort in games played on Dec. 14-20.
Dummermuth, a 6-foot-6 sophomore from Dover, Ohio, averaged 28 points and 11 rebounds as the Falcons split two games at the Las Vegas Hoopla Tournament.
Dummermuth registered 19 points and 10 rebounds in a 55-53 setback to NAIA Division I #12 Westminster (Pa.). He then exploded for a career-high 37 points and 12 boards in a 73-69 overtime win against Hope International.
For the week, Dummermuth shot 55 percent from the field, including a 2-for-3 showing outside the arc, and he hit 71 percent of his free throws. He ranks sixth nationally in scoring at 24.9 ppg.
Notre Dame enters the week 8-4 overall and 2-0 AMC.
