Malone's Baechel, Boudler take AMC baseball honors

CEDARVILLE, Ohio - Malone teammates Ryan Baechel and Adam Boudler have been selected the AMC Baseball Player and Pitcher of the Week for their performances in games played on March 23-29. They were instrumental in leading the NAIA #25 Pioneers to a 6-0 week.

Baechel, a 6-foot-5 senior first baseman from Canton, Ohio, batted .591 with two doubles, three runs scored, and eight RBI’s. He hit safely in every game which helped Malone to six AMC road victories.

Baechel recorded 13 hits in 22 at bats and also walked one time. Malone improved to 19-4 overall and 6-0 AMC.

Boudler, a 6-3 senior righthander from Louisville, Ohio, was 2-0 with a 1.64 ERA. He allowed two earned runs in 11 innings pitched on 12 hits.

Boudler tossed four innings of an 8-6 win at Walsh. He also struck out five in a complete-game 5-0 victory at Cedarville.
