CEDARVILLE, Ohio - Mount Vernon Nazarene second baseman Josh Estep and Rio Grande righthander Desmond Sullivan are the AMC Baseball Player and Pitcher of the Week for games played on March 30 through April 5.

Estep, a six-foot senior from Gahanna, Ohio, is the AMC Player of the Week. He batted .579 during MVNU’s 4-2 week.

Estep hit safely in all six games for the Cougars by going 11-for-19 at the plate. He tallied two doubles, a home run, seven runs scored, and 11 RBI’s.

Estep posted an .842 slugging percentage, walked twice, stole one base, and handled 18 chances in the field without an error. MVNU is 21-8 overall and 11-3 AMC.

Sullivan, a six-foot sophomore from Scarborough, Ontario, is the AMC Pitcher of the Week. He was 2-0 for the Red Storm with a 0.75 earned run average.

Sullivan opened with a 7-1 win versus Point Park in which he allowed an earned run on three hits with six strikeouts and a walk. He then tossed a five-inning no-hitter in a 15-0 victory at Notre Dame in which he fanned three and walked three. Rio is 22-11 overall and 7-3 AMC.
